Recognition highlights growing importance of artificial intelligence adoption in real estate industry.
MORRISTOWN, NJ – October 20, 2025 – Ryan Bruen, team leader of The Bruen Team at Coldwell Banker Realty in Morristown, New Jersey, has been named one of five finalists for Coldwell Banker’s inaugural AI Innovator of the Year award. Selected from the company’s entire U.S. network, Bruen’s recognition underscores the critical role artificial intelligence is playing in modern real estate practice.
The announcement came during Coldwell Banker’s Gen Blue conference, which attracted more than 2,500 agents and featured the launch of “AI in Action,” a learning program now available to all affiliated agents nationwide.
“The agents who are building AI-powered systems now are establishing advantages that will compound over time,” said Bruen. “Those who wait are choosing to compete from behind.”
Bruen’s approach leverages AI for customer relationship management, content creation, and market analysis, enabling The Bruen Team to handle higher transaction volumes while maintaining personalized service. His finalist presentation showcased automated client communication systems and AI-optimized local market content.
The Industry Transformation
Bruen identifies three key factors converging in 2025:
Consumer behavior changes: Buyers and sellers are shifting from traditional Google searches to AI-powered queries for real estate recommendations, making AI discoverability essential.
Technology maturation: AI platforms have evolved from requiring significant technical expertise to being accessible to agents at any experience level.
Market efficiency demands: Current inventory constraints and rate sensitivity require tools that help agents identify opportunities faster and maintain client relationships at scale.
“AI isn’t replacing the relationship-driven aspects of our business,” Bruen explained. “It’s eliminating the friction points that used to prevent us from serving clients as well as we wanted to.”
Coldwell Banker’s establishment of the AI Innovator award and launch of “AI in Action” signal that AI proficiency is shifting from competitive advantage to baseline expectation across the industry.
