Privacy Policy

KeyCrew LLC (“KeyCrew”, “we”, “us”) publishes a portfolio of websites, including but not limited to KeyCrew Journal at keycrew.co, Attainable Housing Digest, House and Hemisphere, KeyCrew Homes, NextAsset News, Property Innovation Journal, Real Estate Radar Florida and the KeyCrew Local sites (together, the “Sites”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

Part 1 applies to everyone who visits our Sites, receives our emails or contacts us. Part 2 applies to people we interview and is published at keycrew.co/privacy-policy. By using our Sites, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

PART 1: WEBSITE VISITORS AND READERS

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Collected automatically. When you visit a Site, we and our partners automatically collect information about your device and how you use the Site, including your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, the pages you view, the links you click, the page that referred you and the time you spend on the Site. We collect this through cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy.

1.2 Provided by you. When you subscribe to a newsletter, fill in a form, email or call us, or otherwise contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, company, job title and message.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • operate, maintain and improve the Sites;
  • measure readership and understand which content is useful;
  • send newsletters, updates and information about KeyCrew’s products and services;
  • respond to your inquiries and follow up on your requests;
  • advertise KeyCrew, including showing ads to people who have visited our Sites when they visit other websites and social media platforms (remarketing), and measure how those ads perform; and
  • protect the Sites, prevent fraud and comply with the law.

3. Analytics, Advertising and Session Recording

We use third-party tools to run the Sites, including:

  • Analytics, such as Google Analytics, to measure traffic and readership.
  • Advertising and remarketing, such as Google Ads, which use cookies and similar technologies to show KeyCrew ads to past visitors on other websites and platforms and to measure the results.
  • Contact and email tools, such as HubSpot, to manage contacts, send email and see whether emails are opened and links are clicked.
  • Session recording, such as Hotjar, which records how visitors interact with a page, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movements, so we can improve the Sites.

These providers collect information directly from your browser and handle it under their own privacy policies.

4. How We Share Information

We share personal information with:

  • service providers who host the Sites, send email, manage our contacts and support our operations;
  • analytics and advertising partners, as described in Section 3;
  • public authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights; and
  • a buyer or successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

We do not sell your contact information. Mobile numbers and text message opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Your Choices

  • Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
  • Text messages. Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving them.
  • Cookies and ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of personalized Google ads at adssettings.google.com, and out of interest-based ads from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of targeted advertising where the law requires it.
  • Access, correction and deletion. Email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time the law requires.

6. Your State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, the laws of some US states, including California, give you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, and to be treated equally when you use these rights. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. You may appeal our decision by replying to our response.

7. Children

The Sites are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

8. Security and Retention

We use reasonable measures to protect personal information. No method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, or longer where the law requires, and then delete or anonymize it.

9. Where Information Is Processed

KeyCrew is based in the United States. Our team and service providers work in several countries, so your information may be accessed and processed outside the country where you live, including in the United States.

PART 2: INTERVIEW SOURCES

This Part 2 applies to anyone who takes part in an interview, call, video session, podcast or similar session with KeyCrew or KeyCrew Journal (a “Source”). You agree to it when you book a session, and you confirm it at the start of the session. Part 1 also applies to your contact information.

10. Recording and Transcription

Every session is recorded, including audio and, where applicable, video, and a written transcript is made. We use third-party recording, transcription and note-taking tools, such as HubSpot, Fireflies and Otter. You will be told at the start of each session that it is being recorded. Please do not say anything you would not want recorded, published or shared.

11. How We Use Your Interview

You grant KeyCrew the right to use your recording, transcript and statements, and anything derived from them, for any purpose, including to:

  • publish all or part of the transcript;
  • quote, paraphrase, edit, condense and adapt your statements, and create articles, reports, analyses and other content from them, under KeyCrew bylines or the bylines of KeyCrew contributors;
  • publish and distribute that content in any format, including text, audio, video and graphics, and in any medium, including print, digital and social media, across KeyCrew publications and through syndication;
  • share transcripts and content with journalists, media partners and other publications, who may create and publish their own content from them;
  • include your interview in data products, databases, research and AI licensing programs, including licensing to data providers and to partners who use content to train or evaluate artificial intelligence models; and
  • use published content in KeyCrew’s own marketing.

This permission is worldwide, has no time limit, covers formats and technologies that do not yet exist and comes with no payment, unless you have a separate written agreement with KeyCrew. Once content has been shared with a third party, KeyCrew cannot control or retract it, and we have no obligation to tell you when content is shared.

12. On the Record and No Advance Review

Everything said in a session is on the record. There is no “off the record,” and nothing a KeyCrew team member says during a session changes that. KeyCrew has no obligation to show you any transcript, article or other content before it is published, and you waive any right to review or approve it, unless a review is agreed in a separate written agreement. We may share a draft as a courtesy; doing so creates no obligation. Our editorial decisions are our own.

13. What You Promise as a Source

By taking part in a session, you agree that:

  • Accuracy. Everything you say is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • Corrections. If you later learn that something you said was inaccurate, you will tell us promptly at [email protected] so we can correct it.
  • Compliance with the law. Your statements comply with all applicable laws. In particular, you will not: make any statement that expresses a preference, limitation or discrimination based on a characteristic protected by fair housing laws; give specific investment advice, or promote or solicit investment in any fund, offering, security or other investment opportunity; disclose material non-public information; or make any defamatory, false or misleading statement about any person or company. KeyCrew is not responsible for knowing the laws, regulations and licensing rules that apply to your industry, profession, state or other jurisdiction. Knowing and following them is your responsibility.
  • Responsibility. You are solely responsible for your statements. KeyCrew reports what you say and does not review it for legal or regulatory compliance.
  • Hold harmless. You will hold KeyCrew and its officers, employees, editors, contributors and affiliates harmless from any claim, loss or liability arising from your statements or from KeyCrew’s use of them as described in this Part 2.

14. Your Likeness

We will not use your voice, image or likeness to create synthetic or AI-generated representations, such as voice clones or avatars, without your separate, explicit written consent.

15. Retention and Removal Requests

We keep recordings, transcripts and derived materials for as long as needed for the purposes in this Part 2, or as the law requires. You may ask us to remove your interview content by emailing [email protected] with your name, the date of the session and the content concerned. We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and respond within 10 business days. We will delete or suppress unpublished material and personal information where feasible. Content already published on our Sites is reviewed case by case, and our editors make the final decision. Content published, syndicated or shared with third parties before we receive your request may remain, and you would need to contact those parties directly.

16. Content Studio Clients and Other Agreements

If you are a KeyCrew Content Studio client, or you have another signed agreement or accepted terms with KeyCrew, that agreement governs how your interviews, recordings and content are used, licensed, reviewed and removed, and it takes precedence over this Part 2 wherever the two differ.

GENERAL

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the Effective Date at the top.

18. Agreements Take Precedence

This Privacy Policy does not override any signed written agreement between you and KeyCrew. If the two conflict, the agreement prevails.

19. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from it will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida.
