The transition from high-volume real estate wholesaling to developing AI-powered communication technology may seem unlikely, but for Nadav Boaz, founder and CEO of VoiceDrop, it was a logical step shaped by operational demands and a drive for innovation.

Boaz’s journey began in Florida’s competitive real estate wholesaling market, where his company managed large-scale outreach efforts. “We used to send over 600,000 ringless voicemails and SMS messages a month, generating a pretty hefty amount of leads,” Boaz recalls. The metrics were striking: about 100,000 messages to secure a single deal, with roughly 1,000 messages converting to leads and only one out of every 100 leads resulting in a closed transaction.

This high-volume process introduced significant operational complexities. Using CRM systems like Aria Reply, which is built on Go High Level, Boaz had to juggle 10 to 20 different accounts to keep up with demand. “I was getting blocked, flagged. It was very tough to get this volume consistently,” he explains.

His move away from real estate was not due to a lack of success, but rather the realities of cash flow. “You close the deal today, but you get the money only in half a year, three months, six months, and it doesn’t fit my character. I need my expenses covered today. I want the money today,” Boaz says, reflecting a common challenge for real estate professionals dealing with delayed closings.

The Technology Shift

The idea for VoiceDrop emerged from a surprising discovery in mid-2023. A friend shared a recording that sounded exactly like Boaz, though he had never spoken the words. “He told me, ‘I just found this tool that can clone your voice and then you can write whatever you want. Basically, text to speech,’” Boaz recalls.

At that point, AI voice technology was not as widely understood as it is now. However, Boaz immediately saw its potential: “If I take this and combine it with ringless voicemails, instead of just uploading some MP3 file and sending the same thing to thousands of people, you could customize the message using variables.”

This ability to personalize messages addressed several challenges. Traditional robocalling faced legal hurdles and low engagement rates. By customizing messages with recipient names, addresses, and specific offers, the technology could increase engagement and improve legal compliance.

The development process was rapid. “It took us about a month to build the initial mockup MVP,” Boaz explains. The company started as a backend solution, offering API access to CRMs and platforms before launching its own dashboard and direct client interface.

VoiceDrop’s Market Focus

Today, VoiceDrop serves clients in multiple industries, with financial services and real estate as primary markets. “Clients that are selling loans, doing collection, buying properties, selling properties” form the company’s core customer base. The platform is also used by insurance, medical, and other industries that rely on telemarketing.

In real estate, Boaz identifies several primary applications. Wholesalers use the platform for lead generation, supplementing or replacing traditional postcards, cold calling, and SMS outreach. “Instead of sending postcards, cold calling, or doing SMS, you can just send ringless voicemails, or it can be one of your tools in your toolbox,” he says.

Property sellers benefit from the ability to tailor messages to different buyer segments. “When you have a list of buyers, you can create a ringless voicemail with variables for the properties and offer each buyer a different property based on the area they’re buying properties in,” Boaz notes.

Specialized uses include probate outreach, where professionals contact families managing inherited properties, and county auction notifications, enabling investors to quickly send offers after auction results are announced.

Efficiency at the Core

The main advantage VoiceDrop offers is improved operational efficiency. Traditional cold calling typically yields a 2% connection rate, with most of the caller’s time spent dialing rather than speaking with prospects. “Most of the time your callers will just spend their time calling people instead of being on the phone. That’s a huge waste of time,” Boaz observes.

Ringless voicemail changes this approach. “When you’re sending voicemails, people hear your pitch and they’re calling you back. So you don’t need to waste time calling people. You just need to take incoming calls,” he explains. This means conversations are with prospects who have already heard the pitch and have chosen to respond.

This method is also less intrusive. “They call you back at their own free time. You don’t need to catch them when they’re available. They will call you when they’re available, and they know why they’re calling you.”

Addressing Misconceptions

Despite the sophistication of the technology, Boaz often encounters misconceptions, especially about the capabilities of AI voice cloning. “Many people find it hard to perceive how advanced it is. People tell me, ‘So I need to record the script, and then it will change certain words.’ And I tell them, ‘No, no. You can create a clone of your voice, and then whatever you write will be spoken with your own voice, like you actually spoke it.’”

The process of voice cloning is highly flexible. “It doesn’t matter what you train it with. You can sing a song, you can say whatever you want, and then we can just use your voice and create anything,” Boaz says, though he admits some users find this concept challenging to understand.

Another significant consideration is deliverability. “This technology is not perfect. It usually has between 60 to 80% deliverability rate,” Boaz notes, citing issues like unconfigured or full voicemail boxes and carrier blocking. However, the company charges only for successful deliveries and provides proof with actual recordings.

Growth and Positioning

VoiceDrop has positioned itself as one of the top three companies in the ringless voicemail market, with plans for further expansion. “Our plan is to, by the end of the year, become the second largest, and by the beginning of next year, become the largest,” Boaz says.

The company’s growth strategy uses a mix of channels, including strong SEO, email marketing, paid ads, and AI-generated video content on platforms like YouTube and Facebook. “We are the strongest currently when it comes to Google exposure,” Boaz notes, while also mentioning proprietary “guerrilla marketing tactics.”

Competitive pricing is another cornerstone. VoiceDrop offers free trials and will match or beat competitor rates for enterprise packages. “If you found a better price somewhere else, we’ll match it or give you a better one,” Boaz promises.

Looking Ahead

As AI technology becomes more advanced and accessible, VoiceDrop demonstrates how these tools can address real-world business challenges. For real estate professionals frustrated with traditional outreach, the platform provides a way to maintain high-volume prospecting while increasing efficiency and compliance.

The technology solves a core challenge in sales-driven industries: scaling personal communication without sacrificing effectiveness. By combining AI voice cloning with ringless voicemail, VoiceDrop lets professionals keep a personal touch while reaching thousands of prospects efficiently.

In industries built on personal relationships, this technology doesn’t replace human interaction but ensures those conversations happen with prospects who are genuinely interested and have already taken the first step by calling back.
