AI Innovation Targets Cold Calling Inefficiencies in Real Estate Industry

The real estate industry’s reliance on traditional cold calling is proving highly inefficient, with agents and wholesalers spending significant time for minimal results, according to Nadav Boaz, founder and CEO of VoiceDrop.ai. In a recent interview, Boaz stated that most real estate professionals using cold calling strategies experience connection rates as low as 2%, leading teams to spend most of their time dialing rather than actually speaking with prospects.
“Most of the time, the people are not spending time talking with people. The team is spending time just calling, waiting on the line, getting people to hang up in their face, yelling slurs,” said Boaz, who previously worked as a real estate wholesaler in Florida before founding his voice technology company.
The data shared by Boaz illustrates the scale of the problem. His own real estate operation sent over 600,000 ringless voicemails and SMS messages monthly, often requiring about 100,000 messages to generate a single deal. While these efforts produced leads, the traditional calling approach proved unsustainable.
“You know, let’s say, out of 20 people, one will answer. That’s around 5% answer rate. And then out of these, how many will stay on the line? Usually you get around 2%,” Boaz explained. “So most of the time your callers will just spend their time calling people instead of being on the phone, that’s a huge waste of time.”
This inefficiency affects not only productivity but also team morale. Boaz observed that cold calling teams face frequent rejection, with prospects often hanging up or responding negatively to interruptions. The approach also introduces legal risks, as his previous company was subject to litigation for what regulators classified as robocalling violations.
Boaz advocates for ringless voicemail technology as a solution. Instead of agents making outbound calls with low connection rates, the technology enables sending voicemail messages directly to prospects’ voicemail boxes without ringing their phones.
“When you’re sending voicemails, people hear your pitch and they’re calling you back. So you don’t need to waste time on calling people. You just need to take incoming calls,” Boaz said. “They know why they’re talking with you about. So you only talk with relevant prospects.”
VoiceDrop.ai’s approach addresses several challenges at once. The technology is less intrusive than traditional cold calling, allows prospects to respond at their convenience, and ensures that conversations occur only with interested parties. From a legal perspective, this method faces fewer regulatory hurdles than traditional robocalling.
The company serves clients across various sectors, with real estate and financial services as the largest segments. Boaz outlined several use cases within real estate, including wholesalers generating leads, agents marketing properties to buyer lists, and specialists targeting probate or county auction opportunities.
Looking forward, Boaz described ambitious growth plans for VoiceDrop.ai, which he says is already among the top three providers in the ringless voicemail industry. The company aims to become the second-largest provider by year-end and the market leader by the end of next year, driven by SEO efforts, AI-generated video marketing, and targeted outreach.
For an industry focused on personal relationships and direct communication, the inefficiency of traditional calling methods suggests a significant change may be needed. As Boaz’s experience shows, adopting technology that streamlines outreach can help real estate professionals dedicate more time to meaningful conversations with qualified prospects, rather than spending countless hours on ineffective dialing.
